Stitch5

I couldn't find a birthday card that I liked for my nephew's 5th birthday so I set about making one. My initial idea was to paint on canvas an image of Stitch and involve the number 5, I found an image of Stitch holding a globe which led to the idea of him holding a big number 5. Having seen 3D letters and numbers that you could paint yourself in Hobbycraft, I decided to merge the 2 thoughts and ended up with a self standing 3D alternative to a birthday card:

Front and back card cutouts

Made 4cm deep with card and double sided tape

Strengthened with papier mache

Painted using acrylic paint

Final detail added using fineliner

The Art of Lyrics

Following in the vein of The Art of Vacations, I've begun a 2nd series: The Art of Lyrics

Taking snippets of song lyrics and producing an image based on that snippet, the first 2 pieces I have started with come from Tori Amos' Little Earthquakes album, tracks 1 and 2....
